    How to test the capacity of battery via E-load
    All kinds of batteries could be seen in daily life. Different battery has its own capacity. Even though the same kind of battery also has different discharge current,which make it have different output capacity. Battery contains several parameters such as battery standard voltage, battery capacity, and maximum output power and so on. Most people may concentrate on battery capacity. Under specific condition (discharge rate, temperature, end voltage), power released by battery is the capacity of battery. It is normally measured as ampere-hour. APM E-load especially provides three discharge modes for battery discharge test: constant current, constant resistance, constant power mode. Through setting end voltage and end time, E-load could correctly stop loading to avoid battery damage caused by over discharge. Test procedure is as below: 1. Connection before test Connect the positive and negative terminal of battery and E-lad. Under the circumstances of high current, there will be voltage drop in cable. Current measurement value in E-load will be lower which may cause effect to measurement. To eliminate this phenomenon, it is available to use remote compensation to eliminate voltage 2. Please set the shutdown condition When testing battery in batter mode, it is necessary to set a shutdown discharge condition. APM E-load has below 4 shutdown test condition: End voltage, overtime, end watt hour and end ampere-hour. When satisfy one of four conditions, battery discharge test will shutdown. Normal test is focus on parameter setting of end voltage, end watt hour, end ampere-hour and overtime.     Simple analysis to remote compensation of Programmable Power DC source
    In practical application, resistance in cable cause voltage drop. It will cause the voltage reach to load side different from exact demand voltage which affect the accuracy of test. This situation is common in ATE test. To make up this situation, it need to remote measurement function of Programmable Power Supply to compensate the voltage drop in cable. APM Programmable DC Source is equipped with this function with higher security and easier to operate. Under ideal conditions, there is no resistance in the cable between power supply and load. In fact, resistance in cable increasing is related to the length of cable and standard. When loop current flows through the wire, it will cause voltage drop which make the voltage of load lower than expectation. If power supply is set to output 3.3V/1A, resistance of output wire is 0.3 Ohm; there will be 0.3V voltage drop. Voltage reach to load side will become 3.0V. It make load unable to operate normally. Thus, it needs to compensate the wire. For that, customers do not need to worry about it on APM products as APM Programmable DC Source is equipped with remote compensation function. Remote compensation wire connects from power supply to load as remote compensation is high resistance circuit in power supply. Current on compensation wire is small. Voltage drop could ignore.
